Skin and Wound Management Module 6: Wound Care: Nutrition, and Hydration – SNF

Strong Nutrition and hydration improve overall skin integrity and health. Wound care based on the best standards of practice is essential. Refresh your staff on the needs of a compromised resident including interventions to reduce the likelihood of developing a wound, and if present, contribute to progressive healing.

Objectives:

  • Learn how to adequately screen for pressure ulcer (injury risk)
  • Assess nutritional need related to pressure ulcer (injury) prevention and treatment 
  • Identify the importance of following current standards of practice related to the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers (injuries)

Attendees will be awarded 1.0 ANCC contact hours for completing the course/webinar.

She has been a Director of Nursing, Nursing Home Administrator, Executive Director, and Vice President of Operations. She holds a Registered Nurse License, Nursing Home Administrator License, and Assisted Living Director Certicate. She obtained an Associate's Degree in Nursing in 1993 and a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration in 2005 from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She is experienced in clinical management, operations management, administration, policy and procedure development, and auditing and monitoring for compliance.  She most recently started her own independent consulting business for senior living operators and related providers in the senior living space.  She has multi-state experience in consulting.
