Preventing skin integrity issues is a critical part of what we do every day. This presentation will discuss what a pressure injury is and explain common risk factors for wound development. A strong Risk Reduction Program is also an important component of reducing the risk of pressure injuries and we will describe this process to assist your center in achieving the goal of reducing the risk of pressure injuries.
Objectives
- Discuss why prevention is important

- List the regulatory deficiencies related to pressure injuries
- Explain common risk factors for wound development
- Identify approaches to reduce risk factors
- Describe the components of Risk Reduction Programs
