There are many components to a successful skin management program including identifying all of the environmental/external forces that can increase a resident's risk for skin breakdown. This presentation will provide your direct care staff with the information necessary to implement an effective prevention program.

Ms. Christensen has worked in senior living for over 30 years in a variety of capacities and roles.  She has a diverse background in all areas of operations and clinical expertise. She has been a Director of Nursing, Nursing Home Administrator, Executive Director, and Vice President of Operations. She holds a Registered Nurse License, Nursing Home Administrator License, and Assisted Living Director Certificate. She obtained an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1993 and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2005 from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She is experienced in clinical management, operations management, administration, policy and procedure development, and auditing and monitoring for compliance.  She most recently started her own independent consulting business for senior living operators and related providers in the senior living space.  She has multi-state experience in consulting.

Angie Szumlinski, LNHA, RN-BC, RAC-CT, BS

Ms. Szumlinski is a nationally-recognized leader in long-term care with experience as an Owner/Provider, Administrator, Director of Nursing, Corporate Quality Assurance Coordinator and independent consultant. Ms. Szumlinski conducts risk management visits at facilities across the country, touching every acuity level within the post-acute care spectrum. Ms. Szumlinski served as an Associate Board Member for NCAL, is a member of the AHCA/NCAL Survey/Regulatory committee, NCAL Quality committee, HCAM Legal/ Clinical Committee and is in her 8th year serving as a Senior Examiner/Team Leader for the AHCA/NCAL Quality Award Program. Ms. Szumlinski is a Nurse Planner for the HealthCap® RMS ANCC accredited education program
