QAPI and Evidence Based Strategy to Reach Benchmarking and Improve 5-star Rating

Quality Assurance Performance Improvement is a critical factor in demonstrating your home’s good faith attempts to improve the quality of life for residents and problem solve effectively and QAPI is required under expanded CMS guidelines.  An effective QAPI program will improve your home’s survey outcomes, can help raise star rating and can improve employee retention.  This program will provide a road map to developing a practical and efficient QAPI program.

Objectives:

  • Review the purpose of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement.
  • Identify the impact of CMS 2025 revisions to QAPI and Quality Rating Systems.
  • Explain areas to obtain benchmarking goals
  • Prioritize QAPI PIPs (Performance Improvement Projects)
  • Develop a PIP based on benchmarking and 5-star QM’s
  • Evaluate best standards of practice

In addition, she has a strong regulatory background and has worked with facilities throughout the United States to achieve regulatory compliance through plan of correction development and quality assurance programming.
