Human Trafficking Part 1

Recorded On: 06/01/2026

Human trafficking is a form of modern slavery – a multi-billion-dollar criminal industry that denies freedom to 20.9 million people around the world. No matter where you live, chances are it’s happening nearby. From the girl forced to “sell sex” at a truck stop, to the man discovered in a restaurant kitchen, stripped of his passport and held against his will. All trafficking victims share one essential experience, a loss of freedom. This one-hour program was developed as the first in a two-part series on Human Trafficking and is intended to assist medical professionals in identifying human trafficking and assisting in making a difference.

Objectives:

  • Describe human trafficking
  • Define the difference between human trafficking and smuggling
  • Identify common disorders associated with the victims of human trafficking
  • Identifying “red flags” of human trafficking
  • Identify the process of reporting suspected human trafficking
  • Identify reasons victims do not seek help

Attendees will be awarded 1.0 ANCC contact hours for completing the course/webinar.
