Consumers may or may not understand the Medicare 5-star rating system, however, they inherently like higher ratings. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) site compiles information about nursing homes, home health services, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, long-term acute care hospitals, dialysis providers, and hospitals. How our centers compare to others is critically important information. Each provider should be well-versed on where their star rating is, what has an impact on star ratings, and how to improve star ratings to remain competitive with the industry. This program will assist providers in understanding the often confusing process of CMS star ratings
Objectives:
- Describe key factors considered within the CMS 5-star rating system
- Examine the impact of each domain (health inspections, staffing, quality measures) on a provider's star rating.
- Describe opportunities and methods aimed at improving a provider's QM ratings.
- Identify the impact of 2025 revisions to the CMS Quality Rating Systems
Attendees will be awarded 1.0 ANCC contact hours for completing the course/webinar.
