Restorative Nursing - Bathing & Hygiene

Quality measures have changed. Now the only physical functioning domain that is measured is “percent of residents whose need for help with daily activities has increased”, but a great restorative program can significantly impact these measures. This may be a good time for you and your team to do a “gut check” and evaluate your commitment to providing great restorative care. Remember, it may be more work on the front end but imagine the benefits of increased independence for your residents! This program was developed to assist you the caregiver in providing quality care to your residents with improving their overall outcomes and independence.

Objectives:

  • Identify methods to make bathing easier for residents and staff
  • Discuss how to use group hygiene while maintaining dignity and lifestyle preferences
  • List ideas for creating a user-friendly bathing area

Attendees will be awarded 1.0 ANCC contact hours for completing the course/webinar.
