Paxlovid: What You Need to Know

The FDA authorized the emergency use of Paxlovid, an investigational medicine, for the treatment of mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in adults and children 12 years of age or older, with a positive test for the virus that causes COVID-19, and who are at high risk for progression to severe COVID-19, including hospitalization or death, under an EUA. This 30 minute program was developed to assist providers in implementing best practices with medication and disease management in collaboration with their medical team and pharmacy.

Objectives:

As a result of this presentation the participant will be able to...

  • Define what Paxlovid is used for
  • Identify the risks associated with Paxlovid
  • Identify the importance of consulting pharmacists in communicating drug-drug interactions

Attendees will be awarded 0.5 ANCC contact hours for completing the course/webinar.

Respected for success in assisting facilities in achieving and maintaining regulatory compliance, Ms. Szumlinski served two terms as an Associate Board Member for NCAL, is a member of the AHCA Survey/Regulatory Committee and served as a team leader for the AHCA/NCAL Quality Award program for 8 years. Ms. Szumlinski is the Nurse Planner for HealthCap Risk Management’s American Nursing Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) accredited education program.
